The Reflections Program
PTSA encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in the annual Reflections Program. This program has encouraged millions of students across the nation to explore their writing and artistic talents through this theme-based arts recognition program. Students submit their works in any of six categories:
* Literature
* Photography
* Visual Arts (2D and 3D)
* Musical Composition
* Dance Choreography
* Film Production
Judging is based on creativity, artistic merit, and interpretation of the theme. The theme for 2016-17 is:
“What Is Your Story?"
Submissions are due to the CHS library by January 27, 2017 - 3 p.m. Late entries cannot be accepted.
Due to deadline complications this year, we will not be sending our winning entries to NV PTA. However, if you would like to have a chance for your entry to be sent to the NV State level competition, you must turn in your entry to LeAnn Saarem by January 6, 2017. Please contact LeAnn at 775-230-3320 or saarem@sbcglobal.net to arrange a drop-off.
1st Place in each category wins $50 cash
2nd Place in each category wins $30 cash.
3rd Place in each category wins $20 cash
Students may submit as many entries, in as many categories, as they would like. Attached are the rules for each category (also available in Spanish - email LeAnn Saarem). A completed Student Entry Form must be firmly attached to each entry. Make sure to follow all guidelines and rules for submission.
