SkillsUSA is a national organization serving high school and college students and instructors who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations.

Carson High School SkillsUSA has over 70 student members and 7 occupations and technical teachers who serve as advisors. They are Penny Reynolds, Sherri Kelley, Teresa Breeden, Charles Shirley, Brian Reedy, and Bill Barbie.

SkillsUSA is an applied method for preparing America's high performance workers. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and involvement in community service activities.

Carson High School competes in the following areas: Architectural Drafting, Automotive Service Technology, Collision Repair Technology, Commercial Baking, Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Service, Graphic Communications, Photography, Technical Drafting, Web Design and Welding.

Carson High School has had a large number of State winners in Architectural Drafting, Photography, Collision Repair Technology, Commercial Baking, Web Design and Automotive Service Technology.
